About us
Fochville Animal Welfare is a registered non-profit that rescues abandoned and injured animals, runs a small shelter, rehomes dogs and cats, and organises low-cost sterilisation days with the local vet. We rely on donations, volunteers and our Saturday charity shop.
Our story
Started by four volunteers in 2006 with a borrowed garage. The shelter on the edge of town opened in 2014.
Why choose us
Every rand goes to the animals; the committee is unpaid and the books are published every year.
Community and charity
Feed a Kennel
Sponsor one kennel's food and vet care for a month and get a photo and an update on your dog.
How to get involved: Set up a monthly debit order with the treasurer or pay at the shelter.

Adopt a senior
Older dogs are house trained, calm and grateful. They are also the last to be chosen. If your home is quiet and your lap is free, come and meet Bokkie, who is nine and still waiting.
